Discovering Basic Bahá’í Teachings through Study of Shoghi Effendi

Ida Cummings of Charlottesville, Virginia, decided to take the course The Promised Day Is Come in order to learn more about the Baha’i Faith:

Ida CummingsI did gain a greater understanding for the Baha’i Faith, Shoghi Effendi, `Abdu’l-Baha, and Baha’u’llah. Through reading their writings, I especially learned to greatly admire the suffering that they endured for their faith and for their deep love of humankind (regardless of nationality or race).

As a result of the course, I am starting to attend Baha’i devotionals in my area and have registered to take another Wilmette course on Christianity for Deepening and Dialogue. There are a few questions that I still have (as related to my Christian background)–but I look forward to studying more and think that some of my questions will be addressed in the upcoming course.

I have a greater understanding of the Baha’i Faith. I plan to do what Baha’u’llah requested of all—to investigate the Faith. I will continue to study and read more Baha’i writings. I feel that Baha’u’llah does have a divine message for our time.

I will continue to learn more about the Baha’i Faith and attend devotionals and deepenings. I will share with others about the Faith.
