Launching New Short, One- and Two-Week Courses
The Wilmette Institute is happy to announce that it is launching new short, one- and two-week courses. It hopes these will appeal to those with super-busy lives who want to take short courses on a variety of topics.
The first such course, which is two weeks long, is to begin on June 16, 2017. It is called Sharing Happiness and Laughter and draws from a quotation from one of the talks of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in which he told the American Bahá’ís that one way to attract others to the Bahá’í Faith was to “laugh, smile and rejoice in order that others may be made happy by you” (The Promulgation of Universal Peace 218). The course will begin with a discussion videoconference on June 17; it will be followed by a second videoconference on June 25. In between the two videoconferences, learners will study and practice the online course contents. The course will end with a three-day period of goal assessment and evaluation.
Other topics that the Relationship and Marriage Team is considering for short courses include Time and Service Choices; Acknowledgment and Encouragement; Listening Well; Couple Talk; Character in Relationships; Consultation as Part of Family DNA; a Couple Equality Check-up; Spiritual and Physical Well-Being in Marriage; Being Friends as a Couple; and Principles Related to Dating for Individuals and Parents.
